Wednesday Vignette - So Much Foliage
My blogging friend Anna over at Flutter and Hum, hosts Wednesday Vignette, encouraging us to find something that has inspired us to share...kinda like Wordless Wednesday...but with words :)

I found a spot in my gardens where I was overwhelmed with emerging foliage. How many plants can you count in this one scene? Even better....how many can you identify? So many different green hues and shapes!
A few years ago, I was determined to focus on foliage in the garden. This one spot makes me feel like I'm making improvements.
Baby steps.

Beautiful, Jenni, and thanks for coming along! I absolutely adore unfurling ferns. I have been taking photos here and there during the past few weeks, documenting their progress, and am astounded how incredible they are. Not sure if I have enough to make a fern-post yet, but your photo made me think I should. Now that you inspired me, I'll keep plugging along... :)
ReplyDeleteAnna, I'm feeling like I want more ferns. I think I'm going through a phase. I have been entranced by them this spring...the unfurling. I hope to see a fern post from you soon!

DeleteLovely! What is the sort of "sparkler" shaped plant in the lower left hand corner? Right by your watermark.
ReplyDeleteIt's a branch of a winter heather...a white variety. Doesn't it look great with that bright new growth?
DeleteSo many things crowded together but complementing rather than competing. I'd say you are having great success!

DeleteBe still my heart....I have a fern and hosta garden and just add in two begonias.....the focal point is a waterfall maple. It is a very shady space between my house and the neighbors.....you picture is what I am going for. Great foliage photo!!!
