October Giveaway

We celebrated the beginning of October by using some of my homemade Pesto on pizza this weekend.  I was worried if it would taste alright, as it was the first time I've made it. Good News, it was great and made all the babying of my big Basil plant over the summer worthwhile.

This month, to kick off the change over to autumn here in the Pacific Northwest, I'll be giving away a pair of my Pretty Pumpkin Earrings.

Leave me a comment on this post, and tell me what your favorite Halloween tradition is and I will draw a random winner on Sunday, October 9th, 2011.

No worries about shipping out of country, except Italy..for some weird reason..but everyone else...join on in and have some Autumn Fun!

Cheers, Jenni

  1. I have no halloween tradition, this gives me something new to create! I do however each year buy many pumpkins and carve a friendly faced one. Pumpkins make great decorations for the Fall season!
Love your blog and love you more!

  2. Hmmm, a Halloween tradition? For the last two years we have joined some friends to do trick or treating in their neighbourhood which has more participation than ours. :) We also go to the pumpkin patch early in the month when the selection is better.

  3. My favorite tradition is going to the pumpkin patch and picking out the best pumpkin. Then going home and carving it with my best friend :)

  4. Those earrings are so cute!!! Silly me, though. I thought they were persimmons at first. Why oh why?

I love going to the pumpkin patch with my family and taking forever to pick out just the right ones. Also, carving them and eating the roasted seeds. Everything about the pumpkins!

  5. Pesto on Pizza? Interesting. I love fall. I bought my husband the biggest pumpkin I could find. I'm going to hid it in the greenhouse and ask him to water for me. We will see:)

  6. Oh I forgot the tradition. Deadwood hosts Deadwierd every Halloween weekend. My husband and I drive around looking at the creative adult cosutumes. My favorite was 4 doctors and a patient on a rolling gurney. What fun. Anyway it is a hoot.

  7. I love these earrings!
Favorite Halloween tradition is meeting up with my girl's friends and their families and trick or treating on the Main street of our town. They close the street off and all the shop owners pass out candy. I've lost track of how many years we've been going, but it's the highlight of my kids Halloween.

  9. Spending the day clearing leaves from the garden... in between sipping warm drinks... then as dusk sets in lighting a candle in the carved pumpkin (carved about a week before Halloween) and lighting other candles in the house windows to create 'atmosphere'. Then at night watching a scary movie.

  10. Beautiful earrings, Jenni! (Since I won the lovely earrings last month, don't put my name in the draw this month, I'll stay out of the contest...for a while, he he.)

But I wanted to tell you about our tradition we started a few years ago...we have our Harley friends over the Saturday nearest Hallowe'en for a pot luck and everyone dresses up. I get all kinds of cheap decorations and we have fun.

We live in the country so we get from zero to three kids trick-or-treating, so party is a way to enjoy the season and have fun!

    Cheers,
    Diane

  11. For some reason I LOVE pumpkins and squashes! Maybe because I grew up in AK where they were not common, yes we had the carving pumpkins from the store but that was it. I LOVE pumpkins though lol. For me the tradition is hoarding them at Halloween time, hoarding is too strong a word as I don't really hoard but I want to! My sons and I always carved them and ate the seeds, I still do it but it's by myself - someday there will be Grandkids! WOO

  12. Fall is my favorite time to get together with the three girlfriends I call my Muses. Last year I had them for tea, which was just an excuse to do a bunch of yummy baking. The year before that we got together here to try making sweet potato gnocchi. Also yummy!
